Minnesota brewery to close Sioux Falls taproom

July 31, 2024

Lupulin Brewing Co. will close its Sioux Falls taproom this fall.

The Minnesota-based brewer won’t renew its lease at 2425 S. Shirley Ave. and will close Oct. 31, it said in a statement.

Lupulin acquired Sioux Falls-based Hydra Beer Co. in 2019 and took over its brewery and taproom.

Now, it will continue to serve the Sioux Falls and broader South Dakota markets through distribution partners.

“We are grateful to our Sioux Falls patrons for their support and loyalty over the years. Although this chapter is closing, it does not mark the end of our journey in South Dakota,” president Jeff Zierdt said.

“We are exploring new opportunities, partnerships and locations to continue serving our valued customers their most beloved Lupulin beers and hemp-derived THC products.”

Lupulin Brewing will continue to increase its investment in growing Smazey, its THC beverage and edible brand, within South Dakota, alongside its beer portfolio, the company said.

“Our goal is to enhance our support footprint and ensure these products are readily available to our customers across the Midwest,” Zierdt said.
