Midco is renewing its 10-year agreement for the title sponsorship of the Midco Aquatic Center.

“Our title sponsorship of the Midco Aquatic Center reflects our ongoing commitment to being a force for good in every community we serve, including Sioux Falls,” Midco president and chief operating officer Ben Dold said in a statement.

“By supporting one of the city’s most popular attractions, we hope to provide more fun, excitement and memories for the thousands of families who visit the Midco Aquatic Center each year.”

Opened in the fall of 2016, the Midco Aquatic Center at Spellerberg Park has exceeded attendance estimates by 2.8 times at 220,000 annually. Attendance draws from approximately 30 states each year.

“The Midco Aquatic Center is an excellent example of the city identifying and responding to a need expressed by the community and Midco stepping up to help make the need a reality,” Mayor Paul TenHaken said. “Sioux Falls relies on strong public and private partnerships to move community visions forward, and the incredible numbers we’ve seen at the Midco Aquatic Center show the importance of these relationships.”

As part of the 10-year agreement, facility customers will enjoy free Wi-Fi service from Midco.

“Midco’s history began in Sioux Falls nearly 100 years ago, and we have committed to honoring that legacy through continuous investment in our community,” said Paige Pearson Meyer, vice president of corporate communications. “We are grateful for our excellent partnership with Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation and join them in welcoming families in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area to enjoy this incredible facility for many years to come.”

Midco’s support of the Midco Aquatic Center goes beyond the title sponsorship, including supporting many programs, events and competitions there, said Don Kearney, director of the Parks & Recreation Department.

“Midco has been an incredible partner for nearly a decade, and we’re thrilled about being able to continue that partnership for another decade,” he said. “For us to be able to continue this partnership with Midco is truly a blessing for Sioux Falls.”
