Midco officially has returned to its roots — with a ribbon-cutting to mark the milestone.

Many of the company’s team members in Sioux Falls now are going to work at the Lumber Exchange Building along the Big Sioux River at 101 S. Reid St.

The Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting there this week to celebrate the opening of the office.

“Midco has a long history of being downtown, so we’re happy to be back,” said Tom McAdaragh, Midco’s president.

“The Lumber Exchange Building has been a wonderful new home for our corporate headquarters. We’re enjoying getting to know the other tenants and, unsurprisingly, The Cookie Jar is a favorite spot for lunch meetings.”

About 50 team members are based at the downtown office, including senior executives based in Sioux Falls, as well as the marketing, communications, human resources, legal and finance teams.

Additional team members are located at 4020 W. Cayman St., where Midco also has made improvements to the workspace.

Midco’s history in Sioux Falls dates back to 1931 and includes decades in a downtown office on Phillips Avenue.

“Over those 90-plus years, we’ve evolved to best serve our customers,” McAdaragh said.

One of the most recent examples is a $500 million investment into its service network that Midco calls Fiber Forward.

“We’re making wonderful progress on that initiative, building out our fiber network to bring faster speeds and better reliability to homes and businesses throughout the Midwest,” McAdaragh said.

Thanks to this investment, customers now will be seeing what Midco calls Beyond Gig — an achievement of the overall Fiber Forward investment.

“Beyond Gig connects customers faster, smarter and more securely. Specifically, it means we’re bringing multi-gig speeds to all eligible customers, and we’re offering award-winning, ultrasmooth and reliable services,” chief operating officer Ben Dold said.

“All the while, we’ll continue to provide exceptional local customer service and support, while being a force for good in the communities we serve. We promise to continue doing our part as a service provider and employer of choice, as well as a community advocate.”

Midco’s ‘Beyond Gig’ brings fastest speeds yet as part of broader company growth
