Manufacturer announces $30M expansion in Brandon

Oct. 15, 2021

Henkel, a global company with multiple business units, is investing $30 million in its Brandon manufacturing facility.

The investment will fund a series of improvements and projects at the site to support its production of thermal interface materials used in the manufacture of high-performance electronics, Henkel said in a statement.

“The investment reinforces Henkel’s commitment to the area, as well as the strategic importance of this facility to Henkel. We’re proud of our work and our team in Brandon and look forward to continuing to grow,” said Bruce Lear, director of operations.

The Brandon facility was built in 2009 at the Brandon Corson Industrial Park and includes production lines and a 36,000-square-foot warehouse. It became part of Henkel in 2014 through an acquisition of The Bergquist Company. The facility has grown over the years and employs about 120 people.

Engineering plans are in progress, and construction is expected to begin in mid-2022.

“Henkel is one of the best corporate citizens in the region, and we’re excited to see their continued investment here,” said Jesse Fonkert, president and CEO of Sioux Metro Growth Alliance, which worked closely with the company on its expansion.

Henkel is a global provider of adhesives, sealants and functional coatings, and leading manufacturer of brands including Schwarzkopf hair care; Dial soaps; Persil, Purex and All laundry detergents; and Snuggle fabric softeners.
