The sounds of trucks pumping concrete, a helicopter delivering HVAC units and the hum of large-equipment motors are a constant these days at the new Maguire campus north of Interstate 90 in Sioux Falls.

“It is exciting to see the progress of the new campus,” CEO Gene Jones Jr. said.

“This new state-of-the-art campus will be an amazing new home where our team members will flourish both personally and professionally while delivering the best new water towers and water tower maintenance services for customers across the country.”

Recently, team members at Maguire boarded buses for the short trip from their current home on North Minnesota Avenue to get their first closeup look at the new campus.

“Seeing the new facility gave me an overwhelming sense of gratitude,” said Samantha Anderson, accounting assistant. “The quality of work we do here at Maguire is directly linked to the culture and atmosphere of our work environment. By investing in technology and our quality of life, it’s obvious that Maguire wants their employees to stay. They understand that their employees are the foundation of the company.”

The tour was the first opportunity many of the Maguire team members had to walk the new campus and experience the investment the company is making in their comfort, innovation and the quality of the water towers they produce.

“Touring the new facility really put into perspective how far ahead Maguire is looking to the future,” said Jason Bolkema, quality control and safety supervisor. “I can’t think of many companies in this area willing to invest in a state-of-the-art facility and also the future of their employees to make sure that Maguire is always at the forefront of this industry. The tour gave everyone the opportunity to feel like a family and get everyone excited about where this company is headed.”

The new fabrication facility recently had onlookers interested as a helicopter delivered and placed the building’s heating and cooling units. The new climate-controlled space is an upgrade from Maguire’s current facility and one that directly benefits the team’s environment and comfort.

“This new facility gave us the opportunity to design spaces that put our team members first,” president Scott Jones said. “We held focus groups, listened to our team members and designed the campus with them at the forefront.”

This investment was evident in the conversations team members had as they moved from one building to the next during the campus tour.

“Walking around the new location, one can feel a degree of job security, not just today’s workforce but for future workforces,” said Joe Golden, facilities manager.

“It brings a sense of pride when you recognize the number of people who will pass by the location traveling across I-90 each day, seeing the Maguire name and American manufacturing in progress, and know you are part of it. In today’s challenging work environment where it seems easier to quit than commit, it is a good feeling to see an organization’s words and actions align.”

Not only was the new fabrication facility a hit, but the maintenance shop and three-story office building that overlooks the city also were highlights for the team members.

“The tour of the new campus was inspiring when you take into account the thought process and care that has been taken to design all the buildings and how they are placed on the campus,” safety supervisor Scott Peterson said. “It shows the level of commitment that management has to its employees, their families, the Sioux Falls community and the customers we serve.”

“Maguire has done a great job of distributing the investment in the new campus into each and every department,” Anderson said. “When I get asked where I work, I am proud to say Maguire.”

The project is on schedule, with the fabrication facility and maintenance shop opening in January 2024 and the corporate office opening in June 2024.
