Look inside Let It Fly – opening next week

July 9, 2021

More than 80 televisions, multiple bars and a guest appearance from co-owner Mike Miller will be waiting for the first guests when Let It Fly opens July 13.

“It looks great. We’re really excited about what we’re seeing,” company president David Rodriquez said. “The building is 99 percent ready and will be 100 percent ready by the end of the weekend.”

Let It Fly, which is at The Bridges at 57th in the former Turks & Caicos Cabana Grille location, is designed as an upscale sports bar with more than 80 TVs.

“We wanted it to be free-flowing and open to keep that energy, but overall we wanted to make sure it will still be a comfortable high-end feel,” Rodriquez said. “They did a great job pulling that together for us.”

The former dining room off the main entrance has been converted into a casino.

“It’s an elevated feel, very nice with a large bar, so it’ll be comfortable in there to be able to play,” Rodriquez said.

The patio will be open from day one, he said.

“It’s massive and inviting and very, very comfortable,” he said.

The former shuffleboard court has been turned into a game area with bean bags, giant Jenga, Connect Four, “and tons of interactive things to do,” Rodriquez said.

Miller also owns a Let It Fly in Memphis, but there are differences. This menu has a South Dakota feel – chislic included – with a little Southern flair in the form of fried green tomatoes and other options.

“There’s something on the menu for everyone,” Rodriquez said. “There’s going to be a lot of dishes that resonate with people in that area.”

Here’s a look at it:

There are 20 taps, including many local beers, he added.

“We keep as much local as possible, but we’ll have anything you may want.”

Miller is coming July 12 for a preview event and will be there to sign autographs July 13 at 4 p.m. for the majority of opening day.

“We’re incredibly excited to be part of the community,” Rodriquez said. “It’s been something we wanted to do quite some time, and we believe we found a niche, and we’d love to have everyone come visit us.”

A website and social media presence should launch soon, he said.

Hours will be 11 a.m. through midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
