The most delicious annual fundraiser for foodies still has tickets available.

The ninth annual Taste of Sioux Falls, an exclusive fundraising event for SculptureWalk, will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Washington Pavilion.

The region’s premier tasing event offers exceptional menus, fine wines and local craft beers with only 275 tickets available to ensure an outstanding experience for every guest.

“I like to think of Taste of Sioux Falls as a 12-course tasing menu,” longtime event committee member Jim Mathis said.

“We’ve got a dozen of the best chefs and restaurants in Sioux Falls, all bringing a small ‘taste’ of their creations. We’ll have appetizers, entrees and desserts. And, of course, we’ll have complimentary wine and beer to go with all of the food. We encourage everyone to try all 12 dishes and vote for your favorite, who will win the coveted People’s Choice award. But pace yourself, you can fill up pretty quickly with all these options!”

Sioux Falls’ most celebrated restaurants will participate this year, including CRAVE, En Place Catering, Intoxibakes, Look’s Marketplace, Maribella Ristorante, Minervas, Ode to Food & Drinks, Parker’s Bistro, R Wine Bar & Kitchen, Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen, The Treasury and a new restaurant to Sioux Falls, Burger Dive, coming to The Steel District next year.

“One thing that separates Taste of Sioux Falls from many other food-related fundraisers is that we give each participating restaurant money to buy the best ingredients and pay their team to create great dishes,” Mathis said. “That little difference really helps to elevate the quality of food we serve our guests.”

Tickets are $175. Raffle tickets for prizes valued at up to $1,500 are available as well and cost just $25. The drawing will take place at the Taste of Sioux Falls event, but you need not be present to win. Prizes include a Gunderson’s gift card, an Acts of Nature image by Paul Schiller titled “Golden Arc of Dreams,” a subscription for two to the 2023-24 Washington Pavilion Performance Series, a subscription for two to the 2023-24 South Dakota Symphony Orchestra season, a piece of the Arc of Dreams, a one-night lighting of the Arc of Dreams and a Downtown Sioux Falls package that includes a stay at the Hotel on Phillips and a DTSF gift card.

“Every year, we have different dishes, so it’s a culinary adventure,” Mathis said. “And while this is SculptureWalk’s largest fundraiser of the year, there’s no silent or live auction, just a raffle for some great Sioux Falls prizes and an appeal for donations. But more than anything, it’s a chance to enjoy some great food while mingling with friends.”

This year is extra celebratory as SculptureWalk marks its 20-year anniversary.

“All the money raised through Taste of Sioux Falls goes to support our mission of bringing ‘Art to the People,’” Mathis said. “As the largest rotating outdoor sculpture program in the country, SculptureWalk has become a major tourist attraction and has been a catalyst for our downtown revitalization. Taste of Sioux Falls helps to pay for all of the necessary but not so glamorous parts of the program like insurance, maintenance and installation.”

Sponsors of the Taste of Sioux Falls include First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard, Avera, L.G. Everist, Bill and Lynne Byrne, Eide Bailly, Fernson Brewing Co., Five Star Call Centers, Garry Private Wealth Resources, Gunderson’s Jewelers, Bob and Kim Hayes, Lawrence & Schiller, Pat and Craig Lloyd, Pendar Properties, Reliabank, Roto-Rooter, Koni and Paul Schiller, Paul and Jil Sova, Tom and Crystal Van Wyhe, Woods Fuller, Acts of Nature, ADwërks, Architecture Incorporated, Carolyn and Scott Christensen, CorTrust Bank, Cutler Law Firm, Bill and Lorrae Lindquist, Lynn Jackson, Steven and Kathy Sanford, Vance Thompson Vision, Xcel Energy, Plum’s Cooking Co. and JDS Industries.
