JazzFest organizers are designating an area for Lyft drivers and riders at the event Friday and Saturday at Yankton Trail Park.

Hegg Cos. offered part of its parking lot at 1300 W. 57th St. for the ride-sharing service. Lyft signs will direct drivers to the location near the park’s south exit on 57th Street.

“We’ve had a lot of questions from Lyft drivers and those who ride-share with Lyft about JazzFest, and so we are excited to partner with Hegg Cos. to have a place to accommodate those who wish to use that service,” said Robert Joyce, executive director of the Sioux Falls Blues & Jazz Society.

The Hegg parking lot is adjacent to the shuttle bus pickup and drop-off spot and will be an easy in and out for Lyft drivers, organizers said. JazzFest is free. Shuttle bus rides from Lincoln High School are $4.

“We hope a lot of folks take advantage of Lyft this year at the festival and get home safely, especially if they’ve enjoyed a drink at JazzFest. So we feel this is a win-win for everyone,” Joyce said.
