Inaugural Women’s Visionary Summit to feature inspirational leaders

The inaugural Women’s Visionary Summit will bring together talented and inspirational local female leaders next week.

Hosted by the South Dakota CEO East Women’s Business Center, it will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Washington Pavilion on the Mary W. Sommervold Hall stage.

The theme of the event is “Aspire. Adapt. Achieve.” with the goal of inspiring attendees to accomplish their goals.

“With a speaker lineup of talented, local women small-business owners, everyone who attends will be motivated to aspire, adapt and achieve how they envision their best life,” said Sadie Swier, director of SD CEO East.

“This conference is meant to establish SD CEO East as a community resource and bring more awareness of who we are, what we do and how we’re going to positively impact the entrepreneur ecosystem in South Dakota.”

Focused on empowering women and entrepreneurship across South Dakota, SD CEO, which is partially grant-funded by the U.S. Small Business Association, provides those interested in starting or already owning their own businesses with the resources they need to succeed.

Along with free and confidential business consultation, SD CEO offers in-person workshops, online training courses, educational seminars and networking opportunities. With connections to experts across all areas of business startup, management and growth, SD CEO can help entrepreneurs in any stage of their business find the resources they need.

The Women’s Visionary Summit will feature the following speakers for its themes:

  • Aspire: Ngoc Thach, owner of Mix Maker.
  • Adapt: A panel discussion featuring Sarah Carnes, owner of 9 Clouds; Marcela Salas, owner of Salas Salsas; and Katrina Yde, owner of Forward Counseling.
  • Achieve: An interactive workshop on the topic of “Fundamentals of Living Your Best Life in the Workplace” conducted by  Annie and Chris Mello, owners of CPM Fitness.

Tickets are $75 and include breakfast and lunch. They’re available through Friday, Sept. 23.
