The convenience stores alongside many Hy-Vee gas pumps have a new name and merchandise mix.

They’ve been converted to Hy-Vee’s Fast & Fresh concept, which include on-the-go meal options and grocery staples such as produce and bakery items.

The Fast & Fresh stores on West 26th Street and East 10th Street also have added a Market Grille Express, offering appetizers, pizza, burgers and sandwiches.

“The other four locations were updated with signage and decor, as well as the internal updates to the merchandising mix,” said Christina Gayman, Hy-Vee’s assistance vice president of communications.

Hy-Vee introduced Fast & Fresh in 2018. The stores include everything from grab-and go Hy-Vee Chinese and sushi to a broad selection of beverages.

Hy-Vee also is planning to build two new pickup areas at its South Minnesota Avenue and West 26th Street stores to support its Aisles Online service.
