Hibachi, sushi restaurant opens in Harrisburg
July 30, 2025
Harrisburg now has its own sushi restaurant.
Samurai Hibachi & Sushi Express opened last week in the former Harrisburgers building.
Owners TJ Anto and Jessica Koenig-Anto have been busy the past few months remodeling the space and setting up the kitchen.

The menu features appetizers, sushi, hibachi entrees and bento boxes.

Already popular are the fried Tiger and Trojan rolls and the Golden Shrimp signature roll, Anto said.

For now, there are four other signature rolls, 10 options for nigiri/sashimi and eight basic sushi rolls.

“I’m just trying to make it simple for the customers right now,” Anto said. As customers learn what types of sashimi and sushi they like, those options will expand, along with other Japanese entrees, he said.
Anto envisions offering a rotating special for a week or two at a time, giving people a chance to try more Japanese cuisine.

The bento boxes feature chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops or salmon with fried rice, noodles, vegetables, spring rolls, California roll, miso or onion soup and salad.

Hibachi entrees are served with fried rice or noodles, vegetables, soup and salad.

For beverages, there are Japanese sodas, American soft drinks, hot tea, coffee and juice. With The Bunker serving alcohol next door, Anto said he’s not in a rush to add a beer and wine license.
Koenig-Anto said some customers have placed their order at the restaurant and then gone next door for a drink while it’s being prepared.

Eventually, customers will order at the front counter and then find a seat in the dining room, but for now Samurai is providing table service, which gives customers more time to learn about the menu, Anto said.

The dining room has seating for about 40 people.

Samurai has a staff of 15 but is still hiring, Koenig-Anto said.

Hours for the restaurant at 106 W. Willow St. are 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

A grand opening will be held in August.
