GreatLIFE Suburban Lanes Family Fun Center has re-opened after closing for about a month for renovations.

The renovations focused on Suburban Lanes’ bowling lanes, putting in new flooring, gutters and capping. Bumpers are also now in all 10 lanes, making it easier for kids to play, according to Bob Elrod, co-manager of Suburban Lanes.

After GreatLIFE bought Suburban Lanes at 2621 S. Spring Ave. in mid-2016, it made a string of updates to the facility, adding golf simulators, arcade games and a retro 1950s theme. The most recent renovations were long overdue, as the bowling lanes had been untouched over the last few decades, Elrod said.

“It will make a huge difference,” he said. “It was time to make a change and get up to date. Now there’s a nice, new, fresh feeling for the Lanes.”

A grand reopening party will be held at GreatLIFE Suburban Lanes on Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring free bowling and golf simulators, free hot dogs and root beer floats, bouncy houses and outdoor games.

Plus, any new GreatLIFE members who sign up during the party will enjoy no enrollment fee and the rest of September free. New members and referring members will be entered into a prize drawing.
