The popular KidsZone program that’s part of the membership at GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness is expanding.

The program offers structured activities and free play to children of GreatLIFE members. Activities for kids age 6 to 12 include team sports, dance, games, arts and crafts, and nutrition education. GreatLIFE group fitness instructors come in as guest teachers to share expertise.

“Our energetic KidsZone staff plans fun activities to keep kids motivated and involved,” organizer Katie Nordquist said.

“KidsZone has been a big hit with kids and parents. Parents love that their older kids have a space to stay active at the gym. They appreciate the fitness and health focus, as well as the incorporation of arts and crafts to engage creativity.”

KidsZone is offered at GreatLIFE’s Woodlake center and is expanding June 5 to the Performance & Fitness Center at 69th Street and Southeastern Avenue.

“Kids have fun with the variety offered by KidsZone. They make friends and get to know the staff,” Nordquist said. “They’re excited to come to KidsZone and often are having too much fun to want to leave.”

Parents are still discovering the service, she added.

“Parents and kids notice the activity happening,” she said. “They’re excited to learn that KidsZone is available as part of their GreatLIFE membership.”

Hours at Woodlake for KidsZone are 4:30 to 7:30 p.m Monday through Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Hours at the Performance Center will be 8: 30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
