Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation

These scholarships are funded by donors and awarded annually to students continuing their education at colleges and universities, as well as technical and vocational schools. Sioux Valley Energy
Sioux Valley Energy and its power suppliers have awarded $22,000 in technical college and university scholarships to 25 graduating high school seniors. The majority of the funds came from Sioux Valley Energy’s Operation Roundup program, with additional funds from Basin Electric Power Cooperative, L&O Power Cooperative and the Rodney Park Memorial Scholarship. Park was a journey line worker at Sioux Valley Energy from 1973 until he died in 2006. Scholarship amounts ranged from $750 to $1,000. To see a list of the recipients, visit SiouxValleyEnergy.com.
American Bank & Trust
American Bank & Trust has awarded $1,000 scholarships to 33 graduating high school seniors across the bank’s footprint. The scholarship program supports students who plan to attend an accredited college, university, vocational school or community college on a full-time basis in South Dakota, North Dakota or Minnesota. Ironclad Construction
Ironclad Construction of Beresford has donated $8,250 to Warriors Never Give Up as part of its spring Building for a Cause campaign. The company, a roofing and exterior remodeling contractor that serves southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa and northeast Nebraska, pledged a donation of $250 for every exterior project sold from March 13 to May 15. Warriors Never Give Up is a South Dakota nonprofit that provides outdoor adventures and community support for previously deployed or service-connected disabled veterans. The donation was presented during a recent fishing event for the organization, which Ironclad also helped sponsor.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation
The 19th annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving event on June 28 raised $13,400 — with donations still coming in — for childhood cancer research. Twelve individuals from the Sioux Falls area had their head shaved to support the organization’s mission to #ConquerKidsCancer. People can still donate money, or they can sign up to shave their head at home. Find out more at StBaldricks.org.

Scooter’s Coffee
As part of its annual Day of Giving, Sioux Falls Scooter’s Coffee locations donated 100 percent of sales on June 10 to four local agencies that support foster children and foster families. Each of these organizations received $7,348: Family Visitation Center, The Foster Network, Royal Family Kids Camp and Sioux Falls CASA.

South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation
The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation presented a donation of $306,621 to Feeding South Dakota during the foundation’s 12th annual Prime Time Gala on June 20. Feeding South Dakota will use the funds to purchase and distribute beef to hungry individuals and families across South Dakota. A drawing also was held for the annual Prime Time Gala Raffle, which featured a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Duramax Crew Cab 4WD LT donated by Billion Chevrolet. During the event, the foundation awarded $15,000 in scholarships to five students attending South Dakota schools who are interested in the improvement of beef production and promotion. In addition, the foundation gave a total of $6,000 in awards to the top three finishers in its individual and group Fed Cattle Challenges, which provide an opportunity for youths age 14 to 18 to learn about the science and economics of finishing cattle by participating in a cattle finishing program. The goal is to develop the next generation of feed yard owners and managers in South Dakota.
