The First National Bank in Sioux Falls

Arby’s Foundation

The Arby’s Foundation has given a $20,000 grant to the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation. The donation will enhance the Student Success Fund and the Education Foundation’s efforts to support the Sioux Falls School District’s most at-risk students. Through the Student Success Fund, the Education Foundation provides emergency food assistance, personal hygiene products and clothing. In addition, the nonprofit provides GED scholarships to students who cannot afford the exam fee and city bus passes to teenagers who lack reliable transportation. The Arby’s Foundation awarded nearly 200 grants across the U.S. to support children in communities where the company has a restaurant. American Roast Beef Inc. and Heap Big Beef Inc. are the franchise owners for Arby’s restaurants in the area.

Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation

The Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation is seeking applications for its annual Repair Affair program. The goal is to make homes more accessible for the elderly or those with a permanent physical disability. Labor will be donated by volunteers, and materials will be purchased with a grant from the Housing Division of the city of Sioux Falls and funds from the foundation in partnership with Independent Living Choices. The event, which is June 7, is sponsored by Cosand Construction, Great Western Bank and Xcel Energy. If you or someone you know is in need of accessibility-related projects, contact the foundation at 605-361-8322 or visit hbasiouxempire.com. Applications are due April 1.
