Gap returns to Empire Mall with value brand
June 3, 2026
Gap Factory opened today in The Empire Mall.

The national retailer combined several spaces in the Macy’s wing into one.

Gap Factory brings the “Gap” name back to the mall for the first time since 2020, when Gap and Banana Republic closed.

Gap Factory is owned by parent company Gap Inc. and serves as a lower-priced brand for more value-conscious customers.

Most merchandise typically is sold at 40 percent to 60 percent off the retail price.

The location at The Empire Mall offers classic wardrobe essentials and trending apparel for men, women and kids.

There’s a major emphasis on Gap logo sweatshirts and sweatpants and women’s denim.

Last week, JD Sports opened down the hallway next to the Sanford Children’s Play Area.
