There are 187 people hospitalized, 17 fewer than the previous report. According to the report, there are 95 patients in the hospital with COVID-19 between Avera McKennan and Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Of those, 25 are in intensive care.

The total number that are or have been hospitalized statewide is 7,839 people, an increase of 25.

According to reports to the South Dakota Immunization Information System, 363,766 people are fully vaccinated, which is fewer people than the previous report but continues to reflect revised data. The number of people receiving a third dose has reached 52,653, an increase of 4,147.

So far, 67 percent of eligible South Dakotans have received at least one dose, and 58 percent of the population is fully vaccinated. Those percentages include state and federal allocations of vaccine.

Three more South Dakotans with COVID-19 have died, bringing the death toll to 2,234.

The state reported 313 new cases today, bringing the total to 154,086.

The report includes a total of 37,444 cases in Minnehaha County, 48 more than the previous report, and 10,249 cases in Lincoln County, an increase of 21.

South Dakota has 5,393 active cases, 71 fewer than the previous report. The state total includes 146,459 people who are reported as having recovered, an increase of 380.

There are 204 people hospitalized, five more than the previous report. According to the report, there are 101 patients in the hospital with COVID-19 between Avera McKennan and Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Of those, 23 are in intensive care.
