Watertown-based Dugan Sales & Service has started selling appliances out of its new Sioux Falls location.

It’s in the Gilrich Village retail center at 1116 W. 41st St.

“So far, we’ve had really positive feedback,” said Jeremy McBurney, who is a fourth-generation owner with his wife, Erin.

“Customers like the open layout. It’s got a nice, modern look.”

Dugan was founded in 1911 and is the oldest family-owned business in Watertown. The expansion to Sioux Falls includes leasing a 30,000-square-foot warehouse near Scheels that used to be leased by Montgomery’s.

“And we’ve been planning our move to Sioux Falls long enough that we ordered ahead and were able to warehouse enough inventory to carry us through the first few months doing business in Sioux Falls,” McBurney said. “For the most part, if someone wants to walk in today and buy a full kitchen package or set of laundry, we have it in stock and can deliver in a week or less with rare exceptions.”

Kitchen brands include Whirlpool, LG, KitchenAid, JennAir, the LG line Signature Kitchen Suite, Thermador and Bosch. Laundry includes LG, Electrolux and Speed Queen.

There’s also a kids’ section for future chefs as parents shop.

Dugan has found the employees it needs to handle sales and service, McBurney said.

“I think it’s going to be good,” he said of the Sioux Falls expansion. “We’ve had a lot of traffic already just being on 41st Street, and we’ve had really good foot traffic, so I think it’s a great spot for us.”

Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
