Falls Park sees busiest season in 16 years

More people visited the Visitor Information Center at Falls Park in 2017 than any year since its opening in 2001.

The Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau reported 230,923 people signing the guestbook in the Visitor Information Center, which is 14,660 more people than in 2016.

An additional 700,000 people are estimated to have visited the park and not signed the guestbook in 2017.

Visitors from 50 states signed the guestbook, with the addition of 70 foreign countries. The top 10 states signing in were Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, California, Florida and North Dakota.

The top 10 countries signed in the guest book were Canada, Australia, Germany, England, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Norway, the Netherlands and Italy.

The Falls Park Visitor Information Center is managed and marketed by the Sioux Falls CVB.
