Southeastern Electric Cooperative belongs to an alliance of more than 750 Touchstone Energy cooperatives in 46 states. Touchstone Energy provides a unified face for the small businesses that own and service rural America’s 2.5 million miles of power line. By working jointly, this network of small co-ops generates services that usually would require the resources of a national corporation. Southeastern Electric Cooperative is accepting applications for an engineering position. This position provides analysis and planning for the distribution system as well as technical support for the operations department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the design and development of distribution line projects for commercial and
    residential electric services.
  • Understands electric service requirements, and evaluates existing distribution facilities.
  • Offers technical recommendations on new load additions.
  • Prepares easements, plans and specifications of distribution line projects.
  • Ensures that designed electrical facilities meet NEC, NESC, RUS and cooperative standards.
  • Complies with all federal, state and local laws dealing with safe working practices and hazard
    communication.
  • Maintains a level of continuing education to keep informed on current developments in
    related areas.
