Downtown sports retailer to switch storefronts

Sports apparel and accessory business A League of Your Own will have a new location in the new year.

It’s moving from the Boyce-Greeley Building at 11th Street and Phillips Avenue across the street to the soon-to-be-vacated Unglued space at 218 S. Phillips Ave.

The last day for A League of Your Own in the old location is Jan. 20, and the plan is to reopen a few days later in the new space.

While it’s a smaller space, the configuration allows for as much or maybe more inventory, said owner Kathryn Macziewski, who founded the business in 2014.

“It will let us continue how things were in the beginning,” she said. “We’ll have more funds for inventory and be able to continue our vision better at that location, providing the best selection and quality product we can. And overall, I think we’ll have more flexibility, even with my time for going to markets.”

Scratchpad Tees, which shares space with Unglued, will continue to sell its apparel there.

In the spring and summer, the inside and out will be repainted, and new lights will be added, Macziewski said.

She will hold a moving sale with 25 percent off most merchandise Jan. 2-20.

The last day for Unglued is Jan. 10.
