Downtown boutique to close
Sept. 11, 2024
Downtown boutique Veza is planning to close this fall.
The store at 330 S. Phillips Ave. was acquired by Ondrea Stachel about three years ago. It was formerly TH Grey and rebranded in 2022. Stachel was the third owner for the boutique, which opened online in 2016 and downtown the following year.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to get to know and assist the people of Sioux Falls with their styling needs over the past three years,” she said.
“The support of the community has meant the world to me, and it’s what’s made this journey truly remarkable; however, at the end of the day, there isn’t enough traffic to sustain, which is why I’ve made the choice to step away at this time.”
She encouraged shoppers to support independent retail.
“I feel we — they — play a crucial role in our community as most local businesses generously contribute to our city,” she said. “Where you choose to spend your money significantly impacts our vibrant community and keeps it flourishing.
“We have a wide range of new inventory, with more arrivals expected until mid-October. Active gift cards should be used on or before Oct. 31 as they will no longer be valid after that date.”
Stachel and the building owner are looking for someone to sublease her location. It’s about 1,000 square feet, including a similar-sized basement for storage. Contact ondrea.stachel@vezastyle.com for information.
