Dine Cafe to close storefront, shift business model

May 7, 2025

Dine Cafe, which features take-and-bake and grab-and-go meals and a small menu of made-to-order breakfast and lunch items, will close its storefront in south Sioux Falls later this month.

Owners Shea and Sara Geelan will move the prepared-meal operations to the Lennox commercial kitchen used by their other business, Dialed In Nutrition. They will continue to operate both brands. Dialed In Nutrition focuses on healthy, clean meal options, and Dine offers healthy comfort meals that many families are looking for, Sara Geelan said. “Having both options allows us to meet different needs in the community.”

Dine customers will be able to order meals online once its website is ready, with delivery and pickup options like those offered by Dialed In Nutrition.

The main reason for closing the storefront is the difficulty of operating two locations, Geelan said, noting that it was hard to give Dine the attention it deserved.

The couple opened Dine Cafe in August 2024 in the former Sioux Falls Chef space at 2210 W. 69th St. They purchased the existing equipment and are interested in selling it to someone who might want to take over the lease for the space.

The cafe portion of the business closed today, but take-and-bake meals will be available as long as product is available, with May 23 as the latest date, Geelan said. Updates will be posted on Facebook.

Dine gift certificates will be accepted in the store until it closes. Customers also can call the Dialed In Nutrition office at 605-370-5754, and Geelan will transfer the information so the remaining balance can be used to make purchases on the Dialed In Nutrition or Dine websites.

Dine’s hours have been adjusted, opening at 8 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and closing at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 2 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. Freezer meals are marked at 40 percent off through May 16, and buffalo meat is not included.

The Geelans started Dialed In Nutrition in 2017. It distributes meals by delivery and through retail partners and also has contracts with child care centers to provide lunches.
