Dillard’s ramps up hiring ahead of March opening

Opening day is about a month and a half away for the first Dillard’s store in South Dakota, and widespread hiring has started.
The department store will hold a grand opening March 6 at its Sioux Falls location at The Empire Mall.
Construction “is progressing well,” district manager Mark Galvan said.
Vanessa VanEckhoutte has been named store manager. She has spent the past five years as the store manager of a Dillard’s in New Mexico and has been with the company since 2004.
“I am thrilled to be part of Team Sioux Falls,” she said. “Since my arrival, I have been met with nothing but the friendliest people — the warmest welcome I could have asked for.”
Dillard’s has scheduled hiring events the next two weeks to fill a variety of roles. Available positions include store management, fashion stylists, receiving and housekeeping staff, customer service, security camera operator, alterations and store engineer.
Applicants can stop by the Dillard’s main entrance next to the food court at the following days and times:
Jan. 17-20 and Jan. 24-27
- Wednesday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pay is “extremely competitive” the company said, with full-time and part-time options available, a comprehensive benefit package with medical and dental coverage and “generous merchandise discounts.
