Digital marketer thrives on ‘close community, connection’ Sioux Falls fosters

April 2, 2024

This week’s Up-and-Comer is Annie Klumpp, an associate account executive at Click Rain.

Name: Annie Klumpp

Age: 26

Hometown: Brandon

What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I grew up near Sioux Falls and graduated from Brandon Valley High School. I found myself back home in Sioux Falls during the pandemic after graduating from Iowa State University. Sioux Falls has always been special to me, and I value being close to my family.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

I think the community of Sioux Falls is a great place for young professionals. I love the feeling of close community and connection that Sioux Falls fosters. I’ve made some wonderful connections at local events and conferences!

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

Partnering with my teammates to leverage Click Rain’s talent and resources to drive success for our clients. I also really enjoy getting to know our clients on a personal level and forming long-standing partnerships with them.

How did you get connected to your industry?

I majored in marketing and management at Iowa State University and knew I wanted to work at a digital marketing agency. The opportunity to work at Click Rain presented itself, and I haven’t looked back since!

Describe your workplace in three words.

Innovative, passionate, thought-leaders.

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

I love to travel! I’ve had the privilege to visit over 20 countries so far. My goal is to travel to every continent — maybe besides Antarctica. My fiance, Gabe Dannenbring, has also had some amazing opportunities as a social media influencer to travel through brand collaborations like NASCAR and Hyatt Hotels. I usually get to be his “plus one” on these trips, so we’ve had some pretty incredible experiences traveling together!

Lastly, my go-to fun fact is that I’m an identical twin, and I also have older brothers who are fraternal twins! I feel like our family could’ve had our own reality TV show when we were younger. 🙂

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

Definitely supporting local businesses. I like spending time at the local coffee shops and shopping at the boutiques we have in Sioux Falls. We have such a strong and amazing community of local businesses here.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

That is a tough one! Either Trader Joe’s or Nordstrom.

If you had $1 million to start a business, what kind of business would it be?

I’d love to start a content creation studio with my fiance! He is a Sioux Falls School District teacher as well as social media influencer. We’d love to create a space where local influencers/creators can create, collaborate and learn from each other.
