Country club extends agreement to host Sanford International

The Sanford International and Minnehaha Country Club announced today that the board of directors at Minnehaha Country Club and its membership have agreed to continue hosting the Sanford International through 2024.

The country club previously had said it would no longer host the PGA Tour Champions tournament.

“This decision is a big step forward in the process and provides us the latitude to pursue an extension with the PGA Tour Champions,” said Micah Aberson, executive vice president of Sanford Health. “Sanford Health is proud to be the title sponsor of this event that provides an incredible economic and charitable impact on our community.”

“The Sanford International is grateful for today’s decision made by the board of directors and membership of Minnehaha Country Club in agreeing to be the host venue for the Sanford International through 2024,” said Josh Brewster, tournament director. “Being the host of an event of this magnitude is no small task, and we sincerely appreciate the membership’s willingness and sacrifice in allowing us to host the event at their home. There is no better host venue in this region than Minnehaha Country Club, and with their support, we will continue to make this a premier event on the PGA Tour Champions.”

“This decision has not been made lightly, nor without great thought and commitment to the process,” said Bret Coad, chief operating officer of the country club. “We thank our members for their thoughtful input and support in sharing our beautiful golf course with the Sanford International Tournament. We look forward to strengthening our relationships with the tournament, the Tour and the many dedicated sponsors, and we are proud to host this incredible event for our community.”

Tickets for this year’s Sanford International Presented by Cambria — Sept. 13-19 — are now on sale. Patrons may purchase tickets at sanfordinternational.com or by phone at 877-748-3376. Tickets start at $20.
