Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

Evereve will open Sept. 5 in The Empire Mall. The shop, which will be near Red Robin, is the 87th location for the Minnesota-based women’s clothing retailer.

Tienda America is moving around the block to a more visible space on East 10th Street. The Hispanic grocery store at 114 S. Franklin Ave. is taking over the former Welcome Mat laundromat location next to Los Paisanos restaurant, just east of the viaduct. Remodeling work should be completed in the fall or early winter, said Cristobal Ortega, who owns Tienda America with his sister Antonia Donis.

Sanford Health’s new event venue will be opening soon. In addition to Sanford gatherings, the 10,000-square-foot building will be available to rent for private events. It’s on the corporate headquarters campus in northeast Sioux Falls.

Scooter’s Coffee is expanding to Madison. Franchisees Travis and Kristen Rhoades of Sioux Falls will lease space for the coffee shop in a retail center that will be built in the parking lot of Montgomery’s. It will have seating inside and a drive-thru and might be open by the end of the year.

Noodles & Company is returning to the east side of Sioux Falls. The restaurant closed its location on Arrowhead Parkway earlier this year. Franchisee Joe Cody is building a retail center on East 10th Street next to the new building that includes Taco John’s. It might be ready to open in the first quarter of next year.

The Hideout at 1213 N. Cliff Ave. is planning to start serving food. Construction of the bar’s kitchen might be done by the end of September.

FunZone is coming to Pizza Ranch on East 10th Street. The restaurant plans to turn some of its party room space into an arcade with prizes. Remodeling work is expected to begin Sept. 3, with the FunZone set to open Oct. 1.

A jewelry artist is opening a store in the 518 Marketplace in Harrisburg. Amy Balster started BluMoon Designs two years ago and has been selling her pieces at festivals. She’s hoping to open Sept. 1.

A new 48-unit senior-living complex has started selling member shares. ParkPlace Village is designed for maintenance-free independent living for members 62 and older. It will be built near Kuehn Park and Roosevelt High School. Residents will purchase a share in the cooperative as well as pay an annual fee. Shares range from $87,000 to $170,000, depending on whether the unit has one, two or three bedrooms. The hope is to break ground a year from now and be ready for residents 12 to 18 months later.

Lupulin Brewing Co. has opened in the former Hydra Beer Co. location at 2425 S. Shirley Ave. The microbrewer has filled most of the 24 tap lines with beers brewed at its Big Lake, Minn. location. On-site brewing likely won’t begin until mid- to late October. The taproom is open daily.

Squealer’s Smoke Shack of Tea has started construction for a new restaurant near the GrandStay Hotel and Suites on the northeast edge of the town. The barbecue business, which started as a food truck in 2014, will more than double in size. Along with expanded menus for the restaurant and catering, added features will include a rooftop patio, video-lottery casino and sand volleyball courts. Co-owner Dustin Kuipers said he hopes to open the new location after the first of the year.

Urban Ink Tattoos has opened at 331 S. Minnesota Ave. Owner Zach Davis has been doing tattoo artistry on and off for the past 13 years. He had a shop with the same name about 10 years ago in Larchwood, Iowa. “lt’s my passion,” Davis said. “I love artwork. I love dealing with people and hearing their stories.” His shop is open from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and he takes walk-ins if he’s not busy with a client.

Dakota Silencer has changed its name to Silencer Central as its business grows beyond South Dakota, where it started in 2005. The Class 3 firearms dealer based at 7511 S. Loiuse Ave. is licensed to sell in 11 states and is looking to expand to all 42 states where firearm suppressors will be legal by the end of 2020.
