Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

Tavern 180, a Nebraska-based gastropub, is coming to Sioux Falls. It will open this summer in The Galleria at 69th and Western.

The Resort by SDK is adding an indoor splash park for dogs with a tiki bar for the pets and their owners. The park will be a year-round venue at the facility along Highway 115 between Sioux Falls and Harrisburg. Construction will start this summer.

Attitudes by Designers is closing Friday. The women’s clothing store opened downtown more than 30 years ago. It has been at the Park Ridge Galleria at 26th and Western for the past two decades.

Sanford Health has added LASIK eye laser surgery with Dr. Andrew Ollerton. The procedure can correct common refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

The Spice & Tea Exchange, an experience-based store with spices, herbs, sugars, salts and exotic teas, is coming to downtown Sioux Falls. Franchisees Tami and Vernon Brown plan to open the store in June at 328 S. Phillips Ave. in the former Oh My Word space.

Juba Restaurant & Grocery Store has opened in a retail center at 12th and Garfield. It features East African foods with a grab-and-go breakfast, snack and espresso/tea bar and a full restaurant. It’s open daily.

Books n Brewz Pizzeria has opened in the former Fernson on 8th and Breadico spaces at Eighth and Weber. It’s a combination bookstore, bar and restaurant that’s open Tuesday through Saturday.

The east-side Shopko has closed, and the final day for the West 41st Street store is May 19. Both optical centers are operating out of the 41st Street location until their new standalone sites are built out.

Candy Cloud Factory is expanding to downtown Sioux Falls. The business, which offers cotton candy creations, was founded in Mitchell two years ago and acquired this year by Edward Clark and Luke Jessen. They hope to open in June on the first floor of The Cascade on North Phillips Avenue.

Amazing Lash Studio is coming to The Galleria at 69th and Western. The national business specializes in eyelash extensions and offers other lash services. The franchise is owned by the mother-daughter team of Lisa Wichman and April Buysse. The business plans to open in midsummer.

Family Dollar will open its fourth store in Sioux Falls at 2511 S. Minnesota Ave. next to Bagel Boy. It’s expected to open in late summer.

A new business offering a variety of virtual reality experiences opens May 1 in a retail center on the southeast corner of 26th and Sycamore. Virtuality Gaming Den will have virtual reality simulation chairs, racing simulators, virtual reality chambers, a free-roam space for multiple players and a gaming station room. It will be open daily.
