Here’s a look at recent changes in the business landscape in the Sioux Falls area.

A west-side Mexican grocery store has added a taqueria next door. Taqueria Los Primos at 807 S. Marion Road is the creation of the family that owns Mi Casa Latina Mexican Store. Food is served to go, with a menu that features tacos, burritos, tortas, seafood dishes and more. The taqueria opens at 10:30 a.m. daily, closing at 8:30 p.m. every day except for Sunday when it closes at 6:30 p.m.

Long-time Spoke-N-Sport manager Peter Oien has bought the business from owner Chad Pickard. The bicycle and winter sports shop has two locations in Sioux Falls and one in Brookings.

A new business offering custom jewelry designed not be removed daily has opened in downtown Sioux Falls. The Midnight Spark Permanent Jewelry Studio is located within Nordic Hall, 218 W. 13th St., and opened in the physical space recently after launching last fall through events, pop-ups and private parties.

Mary’s Mountain Cookies has added a bus to sell cookies and other treats at public and private events. Baking will be done in the shop at 701 N. Phillips Ave.

Active Generations has opened its east-side location at Dawley Farm Village. The center is at 5500 E. Active Gen Place near 18th and Foss. It includes a dining room with weekday lunches, multipurpose rooms for classes and more, a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pickleball courts and Day Break services for those with dementia and other conditions to receive guided care. While programming is geared toward older adults, membership is open to anyone 18 or older and can be used at both locations.

Northstar Grill & Pub at 4305 W. 61st St. N. has been rebranded as Tinners Public House. The Tinners ownership group purchased it a year ago.

Gameday Social Apparel Co. has moved from Brookings to Sioux Falls. The company specializes in licensed clothing and accessories for universities. While most of its business is wholesale, it does offer a direct-to-consumer website.
