Closed home sales fall in Sioux Falls as inventory drops

Closed home sales dropped in Sioux Falls in March while new listings essentially were flat.
There were 200 closed sales, down 13 percent from a year ago according to the Realtor Association of the Sioux Empire Inc. New listings at 414 were basically the same as last year, when there were 408 new listings.
The median sales price also was flat at $313,950, versus $314,263 last year. The average sales price dropped to $359,857, down from $367,438 last year.
Home sold faster than a year ago, with the average spending 85 days on the market before selling — six days fewer than last year. Sellers received on average 97.3 percent of original list price, down from 97.6 percent a year ago.
The price range that tended to sell the quickest was $200,000 to $250,000 at 80 days; the price range that tended to sell the slowest was $2 million and more at 233 days.
The market ended March with a three-month supply of homes, down from a 4.9-month supply.
