Origin Health – Chiropractic & Wellness is the latest tenant to join the growing Dawley Farm Village development.

Joe Moen is a Wyoming native and University of Sioux Falls graduate who received his doctorate at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota before returning to Sioux Falls in 2015.

He has worked as a chiropractor for about three years and decided the time was right to start his own office. His wife, Kelsey, also works in health care.

“It seems like a lot of chiropractic clinics just do chiropractic, and we’re excited to build something that will offer more of an all-encompassing wellness program,” he said. “We’ll take care of people in pain but also have a place where we could have a weight-loss program or help people with exercise.”

He’s leasing 2,000 square feet inside Voyage Federal Credit Union, 5800 E. 18th St.

“It’ll be open,” Moen said. “One reason we liked the Voyage building is the southern wall is all windows, and we wanted big windows, open space and a lot of light.”

The goal is to make it not feel like a traditional medical office “with wood paneling and elevator music and closed-off rooms and long wait times,” he added. “We want it to feel like a newer hotel lobby, fun music. We want it to be a place where there’s energy and hope that people enjoy coming to.”

He named the practice Origin because he likes the idea of getting people back to the basics of health and wellness.

“Exercise can be as simple as starting with a walk,” he said. “Nutrition … just start with the basics. Start by eating real food, and do simple things, and branch off of that.”

The office is a welcome addition to Voyage’s building, marketing manager Jessica Stienstra said.

We are so excited to have Dr. Moen in our building at Dawley,” she said.

“At Voyage, we understand that physical health and financial health really go hand-in-hand and think he will make a wonderful addition to our local community and Dawley Farm Village. We are excited for his practice to open and to be able to offer a ‘one-stop shop’ for people to improve their physical and financial health.”

Origin Health plans to open in mid-December.
