National chicken restaurant Chick N Max has arrived in Sioux Falls.

The restaurant opened today at 2201 S. Lorraine Place, near the Hyatt Place hotel at Lake Lorraine. The 2,400-square-foot building includes a drive-thru and seating for 64 guests. It is the first of three locations planned for the area.

“We believe Chick N Max will speak to Sioux Falls diners in much the same way the brand first won us over – with its almond wood-smoked chicken and wings, chef-crafted sandwiches, golden fried tenders and homestyle sides,” franchisee Brad Reinke said in a statement. He owns and operates the new restaurant with his son, Max “Bubba” Reinke.

“We’re excited to introduce Sioux Falls to the remarkable food and can’t wait for locals to take their first bite of a Chick N Max sandwich. We promise you it won’t be their last.”

Founded in 2017 and franchising since 2021, Chick N Max offers a menu of sandwiches including the Chicken and Waffles; the Loaded Bama with white Bama barbecue sauce, coleslaw and dill pickles; the Smoked Chicken BLT with pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, Max’s signature sauce and pickles; and the Sriracha Hot Honey, featuring hand-breaded tenders, buttermilk garlic sauce, sriracha hot honey and bread-and-butter pickles on a brioche bun.

In addition, Chick N Max serves its signature almond wood-smoked chicken in the form of wings, leg quarters, breast quarters and half chicken.

Guests can order 10 homestyle sides, including fries, onion rings, mac-and-cheese, mashed potatoes and smoked white beans, and 11 sauces that are made daily.

“We want our guests to enjoy every aspect of the Chick N Max experience and make sure that their satisfaction is our No. 1 priority,” Bubba Reinke said. “We aim to make our new restaurant a local favorite and enhance the already amazing reputation of the brand as we continue to expand throughout the area.”

Site selection for the next two locations will begin soon, the company said.

Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
