Caribou Cabin concept coming to Sioux Falls

Oct. 15, 2021

Caribou Coffee’s new drive-thru model, Caribou Cabin, is coming to Sioux Falls.

So far, there are two locations planned, including one beginning construction at 1730 E. 10th St. on vacant land next to Taco John’s.

The other will be on the south end of the Dawley Farm Village development at 26th Street and Veterans Parkway next to Casey’s.

“And they’re looking for other locations also,” said Scott Blount of Lloyd Cos., who brokered both deals.

The Caribou Cabin concept was announced in 2019 as the vision of president and CEO John Butcher. They have “Caribou blue” exteriors and drive-thru and walk-up windows with no interior seating.

At the time, Caribou said its strategy was aimed at increasing the company’s store penetration while also delivering on customers’ increasing demand for convenience and speed.

The expanded beverage menu includes flavor-infused drinks with caffeine derived from coffee beans as well as sparkling waters, crafted sodas and juices. The menu also includes breakfast sandwiches and bakery items.

The location on East 10th Street is starting construction, with plans to open in February. The one on East 26th Street is scheduled to start construction yet this year and open in the spring.
