Borrowed Bucks to auction off round two of memorabilia

Feb. 23, 2018

Hundreds of beer signs and other items from Borrowed Bucks Roadhouse are being auctioned off this afternoon and evening.

It’s the second auction of memorabilia and furnishings from the bar, which closed in August.

Today’s sale of noncatalogued items begins at 4:30 p.m. at the former location, 3609 S. Western Ave. The catalogued auction is expected to start about 5:30 p.m.

Borrowed Bucks opened in January 1993 just south of the Western Mall as a country music saloon.

In addition to metal, glass and neon signs, the auction includes vintage soda, cigarette and candy vending machines; furnishings such as bar stools, tables and Budweiser ceiling fans; and decorative pieces such as mounted deer heads, hubcaps and a vintage scoreboard.

According to the auction company, Girard Auction & Land Brokers, the bar will be open for one last time.
