As need for food donations climbs, raffle offers chance to win new truck

June 17, 2025

This event listing is sponsored by the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation.

You can support a critical effort to feed the hungry while maybe driving home in a brand-new truck.

The annual Prime Time Gala Raffle offers a chance to win a  2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Duramax Crew Cab 4WD LT this year.

Because the truck is donated by Billion Chevrolet of Sioux Falls, proceeds are used to benefit Feeding South Dakota.

“With recent federal food inventory cuts to Feeding South Dakota, it’s become even more challenging to meet the growing need for food across our state,” said Lori Dykstra, CEO of Feeding South Dakota.

“Support from the Prime Time Gala has been critical, allowing us to continue delivering beef to families in all 66 counties of South Dakota who are counting on us now more than ever.”

Almost 114,000 South Dakotans struggle with food insecurity, including one in every five children, she added.

Since hosting the first Prime Time Gala + Concert in June 2014, the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation has donated $2,720,044 to Feeding South Dakota. This amount has allowed Feeding South Dakota to purchase and distribute 1,663,390 pounds of beef for individuals and families throughout South Dakota. Donations have been distributed to every county in the state. Annually, Feeding South Dakota provides 11.7 million meals to hungry individuals across the state.

The Prime Time Gala is an annual celebration for the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation and a chance to give back. Billion Chevrolet of Sioux Falls generously has donated a truck to raffle off every year since 2017.

Raffle tickets are available at PrimeTimeGalaRaffle.com. The raffle is open to anyone in the U.S., and you don’t have to be at the event to win. Ticketing will close at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 21, or until all tickets are sold. The winner will be announced on the social media pages for the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation.

The 12th annual Prime Time Gala, which consists of a program and dinner at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, includes a concert at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. This year, the headliner is Jordan Davis, with special guest openers Scotty McCreery and South Dakota native Weston Frank.

“At the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation, our mission is to facilitate the generosity of South Dakota’s beef industry,” president Ryan Eichler said.

“Each year, we’ve been grateful to have incredible support from ag producers and the business community in South Dakota for this gala. They show up as event sponsors, they purchase raffle tickets, and they donate incredible items to our silent and live auctions.”

At the end of the event, “we take the proceeds from the raffle, auctions and concert tickets and present a check to Feeding South Dakota at the end of the night,” he continued.

“That money is used to purchase beef, a high-quality protein source, for people in need in South Dakota. The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation believes in the mission of Feeding South Dakota – and we also believe in promoting beef as a healthy part of a balanced diet. This event is more than a gala, it’s one that has impacted the lives of thousands of individuals and families across the state in ways that some of us can never imagine.”
