Advance Auto Parts has taken out a permit to demolish its store that was severely damaged in a tornado Sept. 10.

The store at 2601 W. 41st St. sustained some of the heaviest damage of any business from the storm, including the front of the building and roof.

It’s one of two locations for Advance Auto Parts in Sioux Falls. The other remains open at 900 S. Minnesota Ave.

While no plans have been submitted to the city for rebuilding yet, chief building official Butch Warrington said he thinks the business intends to rebuild.
