New dance complex to bring elite-level training to Sioux Falls

June 12, 2026

For Sioux Falls, it’s a new studio where dancers can take their training to the next level.

For Brooklin Nothdurft, it’s a longtime dream come true.

She’s the founder of Studio B Dance Complex and represents ‘B’ in the name of a new training facility for dancers who want to pursue collegiate-level and professional dancing.

Dance has been a big part of her life since she was three years old growing up in Beresford, S.D.

“I always knew I wanted to be a dancer and there’s nothing I love more,” Nothdurft said.

Nothdurft was a member of the award-winning Minnesota State University Mankato dance team for five seasons where she helped secure seven Universal Dance Association (UDA) National Championship titles. She also took home five gold medals at the United States All Star Federation (USASF) Dance Worlds.

While in college, she took on a marketing major with a dance minor with a goal to eventually open her own studio. Once she graduated, she found her way back to Sioux Falls to teach and begin planning a space of her own.

“Everyone who knows me knows this is the path for me,” Nothdurft said. “I love kids, teaching, choreographing, and training. I love what dance brings to someone’s life.”

Nothdurft’s choreography has been featured in many studios and high school teams across the midwest as well as by the MSU Mankato and South Dakota State University dance teams.

But she said her goal, while doing that, is to foster a positive, challenging, and inspiring environment for every dancer – and help them reach their fullest potential, both technically and artistically.

“We are offering everything for all ages and all levels so there is truly something for everyone,” she said.

Studio B will offer recreational classes with various styles for dancers to come have fun weekly up to highly competitive competition and college prep teams with some intensive opportunities for college-level dancers beyond age 18.

But the experience can start as young as age three.

“For our youngest of littles, I like to focus on building that strong foundation through social and motor skills as well as learning to be a good student before we get into the dancing technique,” Nothdurft said.

Studio B Dance Complex will sit inside the Western Mall where a 5,600 square-foot space will include two large dance rooms, a bathroom, dressing room, lobby and office.

Nothdurft said the space is finishing construction and the plan is to open the studio for summer session dancers at the end of June.
