Black-lit miniature golf course opens in east Sioux Falls

May 29, 2026

Just in time for summer break: A pirate-themed, black-lit miniature golf course is open in Sioux Falls.

Pirates Plunder Black Light Mini Golf will welcome its first players today at 1503 E. 10th St.

It’s owned by Theresa and Justin Kor, who were inspired to bring the idea to Sioux Falls after experiencing a similar course in Colorado Springs.

“It couldn’t be a better location,” Theresa Kor said. “We love the east side, and the east side needs more fun to do.”

More than half of the 9,000-square-foot space is filled with 18 miniature golf holes designed and built by an industry expert from Missouri.

“It’s perfect. We couldn’t have thought of it any better,” Kor said. “It’s awesome. We love it.”

Their family has played “so many games already,” and the kids are “not even sick of it yet,” she said. “It’s a bright atmosphere — happy, pirate-themed and just a fun experience.”

They decided to use a pirate theme because “it’s a theme anyone can enjoy,” she added. “It can be for girls and boys, and it’s just fun to talk like a pirate.”

There’s also an arcade with 17 self-redemption games — mostly claw-style, “but you get a prize at every one,” Kor said.

The family has made it a full-time job to run the new business so won’t be hiring anyone else yet, though the plan is to add staff eventually.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Miniature golf is offered on a walk-in basis, though there are opportunities to bring parties or special events to the space.
