The Cattitude Cafe is closing its location in downtown Sioux Falls.

It opened in 2023 in the Johnson building at 225 E. 11th St. The last day in business will be Jan. 31.

“This decision didn’t come easily, but we want to be clear — we do not see this as a failure,” the business said in a statement.

“Over the past few years, we’ve helped nearly 600 cats find loving forever homes, and that impact will always mean everything to us. Every purr, every adoption day, every happy tear, those moments matter. What started as a dream became a community because of you. To everyone who visited, adopted, came to our events, shared our posts, brought friends or simply sat with a cat who needed love, thank you. Your support, kindness and belief in what we were building carried us through more than you’ll ever know.”

The cafe took in cats from the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society, supporting its adoption efforts.

Gift cards can be used until the business closes.
