Pho Thai to expand to east Sioux Falls
Oct. 29, 2025
The former Denny’s building on East 10th Street is getting a new restaurant.
Pho Thai, which features Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine, is opening a third location in Sioux Falls.
The former Denny’s location at 4001 E. 10th St. has been vacant since the restaurant closed three years ago.

“We wanted more convenience for our customers,” co-owner Kim Ueng said of expanding to the east side of the city.
The original Pho Thai opened in 2019 in Shriver Square at 11th Street and Phillips Avenue and expanded to the west side of the city in June 2024.
Ueng said the hope is to open the east-side restaurant in late November.
The menu will be the same as the other locations except for sushi, which is offered only at the downtown restaurant.

Popular entrees are pad Thai, curries, pho and chef specials, which are Chinese favorites such as sesame chicken and General Tso’s chicken.

The drink menu will include beer, wine and sake, and feature boba tea and Vietnamese iced coffee.

The dining room hasn’t changed from the booths and tables that Denny’s had and can seat almost 100 customers, Ueng said. The decor has been updated.
Outside, the color of the roof has changed from green to yellow, and the rest of the exterior will get a new coat of paint. The parking lot also has been repaved.
