Restaurant Roundup: New taco/nacho bar, test run for lunch, Totally Rad features

Casa del Rey has added a taco and nacho bar that’s available daily. It includes ground beef, shredded chicken, shredded pork, beans rice, queso, veggies, salsa and other toppings and chicken tortilla soup. Hours for the bar are 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for $13 and 4 to 7:30 p.m. for $16. Kids 12 and younger eat for $7 for lunch or dinner.
As part of celebrations for its Sweet 16th, Oh My Cupcakes has been serving lunch this week at The Bridges location, which could lead to a permanent offering at some point. “If it goes really well, we may look at either doing another trial run or looking at adding it to our menu long term, but there will be quite a few logistics that come with that to figure out the best system for our team to do that,” said Madisyn Van Hunnick, the bakery’s administrative assistant. Friday’s offerings will be chicken and wild rice soup and a chicken salad croissant, served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Totally Rad Eats at Fernson Downtown has new features that will be available until Sept. 27. That’s a photo of the Yeti Style smashburger at the top of the article.

Gibs Sports Bar & Grill has extended its daily lunch specials to include Saturdays. The $10 meal – each day is something different and items rotate weekly — is offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Recent Saturday offerings have included boneless wings and chili cheese dogs with fries.

Maribella Ristorante has added several new creations to the menu: Salami e Arancini, the scallop dish Capesante di Mare, Pizze Suprema with sausage and pepperoni, gluten-free Ravioli and the lamb dish Agnello. Find descriptions of all the additions here.

Yonutz’s featured doughnuts for summer will be going away at the end of August. Flavors include Strawberry Lemonade, Blueberry Lemon Streusel, Key Lime Pie and Pina Colada.

Dakota Craft Links has a couple of new featured sausages for about another week: Korean BBQ Spicy and Green Chorizo.

Cinnabon is celebrating its 40th anniversary with classic rolls for $1.25. They’ll be available to loyalty members from noon to 4 p.m. Friday at participating locations. Limit one per person.

Severance Brewing Co. is having a tapping party Friday for its Smoktoberfest that will include bierstachein, or beer poking. The traditional technique involves plunging a hot metal poker into a beer, which caramelizes the beer’s sugars to create a different flavor. The taproom also will serve a limited-time pizza from Sunny’s Pizzeria: Best Case, Wurst Case, featuring beer brats and spicy mustard. The party runs from 5 to 8 p.m.

Friday and Saturday, Parker’s Bistro, DaDa Gastropub and Club David are having the next destinations in their monthly Passport to the World series. Parker’s features Moroccan cuisine, DaDa has traditional Greek foods, and Club David is cooking up a Cuban meal.



The Barrel House is hosting the annual Hungry Hearts fundraiser to help local kids in need from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. The fun includes People’s Choice Rib and People’s Choice Pit Masters contests. Purchase coins for $20 to participate in each tasting. From noon to 5 p.m., enjoy burgers and brats with sides for a freewill donation with a match up to $20,000. Gumbo is the featured dish this month at Club David’s Sunday Night Blues event. On stage Sunday: the Jesse Christen Band and Reuben Rodriguez. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a $5 cover charge. The gumbo will be $20, and you can get a slice of bourbon pecan pie for $7.

Big Sioux Burger is throwing a Yappy Hour patio party from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Bring your four-legged friends and enjoy a featured Tito’s Vodka cocktail and Lucky One hard lemonade, along with Tito’s samples, swag giveaways and games.

Goodcents is serving mac-and-cheese for a limited time. It’s described as a “rich and creamy cheese sauce served over penne pasta, baked with mozzarella cheese.”

Hot honey in your coffee? The fall lineup at Ziggi’s Coffee features Mike’s Hot Honey in a latte with butter pecan flavoring. There are new dirty soda flavors with pumpkin and green apple and a new apple cinnamon cake pop, along with the returning Pumpkin Pie Latte and pumpkin sweet breads.

Caribou Coffee’s fall menu once again features pumpkin and honeycrisp apple flavors, with several returning favorites. New to the menu: pumpkin cold foam that can be added to any drink, Iced White Mocha With Pumpkin Cold Foam, Iced Pumpkin Crafted Press and a French toast sandwich.

The fall drink menu at Scooter’s Coffee has arrived. New this season: Oatmeal Crème Pie Latte, Caramel Apple Red Bull Infusion and Sparkling Float, and Southwest Steak Omelet Bites. Pumpkin favorites are back, along with the Autumn Caramel Swirl and Caramelicious Muffin.

PAve has a new patio drink menu to enjoy as summer starts to wind down. Shown in the photo are Gary Winterberry, Joseph Oscar and Wade Karen. Changes in hours, service
- Las Mexicanas Food Truck has changed its hours to 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. This Saturday it will be closing at 3 p.m. because of another event. Find it in the Runnings parking lot at 49th and Western.
