Brady Stenzel was getting a haircut when a conversation with his stylist and family friend led him to leave with the idea of a career change.

“I missed seeing people,” said Stenzel, who worked in transportation logistics and recruitment after graduating from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

“Everything I was doing was over the phone, and she suggested I talk to her husband, who was in banking at Central Bank.”

One more conversation was all it took for Stenzel to be convinced it was time to make a move.

“I was excited by the chance to get into an industry where I could develop relationships,” he said. “I had friends at the bank and had grown up around people who worked there.”

Stenzel is originally from Sioux Falls, and while he had the chance to move to Minnesota after graduation, “I stayed because it’s a great community,” he said. “I took a small gap away, and that’s all I needed to realize how I wanted to build my career in Sioux Falls.”

At Central Bank, he began in an entry-level role serving customers at the front desk in 2019. That led to the opportunity to become a credit analyst in mid-2020 — an experience that serves him well in his current role as a commercial banking officer, a position he has held since late 2021.

“It helps immensely in setting up the structure of a deal or explaining to a customer how a bank will handle putting a financing package together,” Stenzel said. “And I think I also bring a good perspective having grown up in Sioux Falls. It’s exciting to see where the community has been and now be part of helping support the growth.”

He also enjoys being part of family-owned Central Bank.

“The Brown family is so accommodating and has been great to work with,” he said. “They give us all a chance to grow. No matter where you’re at in your career, there’s opportunity here. People go to bat for you, help you out and ensure we’re all moving toward the same goal.”

Stenzel’s portfolio of business is broad. He assists business clients of all sizes, from manufacturing to real estate.

“I can’t say enough good things about Brady,” said Joe Gannon, Sioux Falls market president at Central Bank. “He’s been taking on a larger role with us and deservedly so. He’s a top-tier banker with a great background and solid community involvement, and we’re grateful to have him on our team.”

Stenzel serves as treasurer for the board of Sioux Falls Hope Coalition, which provides high-quality preschool programming to at-risk kids, along with the Risk Management Association Siouxland Chapter board.

When he’s not at work, Stenzel is passionate about coaching soccer.

“I grew up playing soccer at Washington High School, and this fall will be my 10th year as a volunteer assistant coach,” he said. “I’m also active in adult soccer in town through Dakota Alliance and always find it easy to support sports-related activities we’re involved in at the bank.”
