Simon’s Tacos has opened a second location in Sioux Falls.

The new restaurant is at 2401 E. 10th St. in a former Pita Pit space.

The specialty is birria, with the slow-cooked, juicy beef featured in tacos, burritos, nachos, ramen and more.

Other meat choices are asada, ground beef, shredded beef, shredded chicken, carnitas pastor, chorizo, chicharron and lengua. There are a few shrimp and fish menu items, and a couple of breakfast burritos, which are available all day.

In addition to tacos, Simon’s Tacos serves burritos, enchiladas, tortas, fajitas and more.

The restaurant offers seating for about 30 customers, who can order at the counter or at a station with a tablet.

There is a drive-thru, but it’s not operational yet.

Owner Edwin Alvarez and his family opened the original Simon’s Tacos at 3500 S. Louise Ave. in 2022.

The family also operates Yessica’s Restaurant in Brookings, which serves Mexican and Italian cuisine.

Hours for the east-side Simon’s Tacos are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Once the drive-thru is going, it will be open until midnight Friday and Saturday.
