New event venue to open in central Sioux Falls
May 29, 2024
A new event venue opening soon in a renovated central Sioux Falls building is designed to host everything from baby and bridal showers to retirement parties and corporate meetings.
Vieta will be a small-scale space at 3420 S. Minnesota Ave. and will hold up to 64 people seated.
It’s owned by Courtney Miller in partnership with her sister-in-law Melissa Madsen.
“Melissa was looking for a place to host her son’s birthday party, and I was also looking for a place to host a bridal shower,” Miller said. “It has been a separate dream of ours, and we ended up finding this building, which had been completely redone and seemed perfect for what we wanted to do.”
The space was formerly a thrift store and before that a long-time floral shop.
Crews are doing some last-minute renovations to get the building ready to begin booking events.
“I’ve worked in other venues, and it has always been a dream of mine to have my own,” Miller said. “To have the perfect location fall into our lap is a dream come true, and we can’t wait to see what types of events will be hosted there.”
Their first official event is an open house for the public to see the space beginning at 5:30 p.m. June 11. Anyone who would like to reserve the space before the end of June for the remainder of 2024 will receive a discount.
Miller said fees for Vieta will be on-par with other venues in the market. For example, a three-hour rental would be about $300 with a $50 cleaning fee.
