National auto industry retailer Les Schwab Tire Center has opened its first Sioux Falls store.

The nearly 15,000-square-foot location is at 5800 E. Arrowhead Parkway and includes eight bays.

General manager Casey Longacre has been with the company 15 years and relocated from northern California near Oregon.

“Everyone I’ve interacted with has been very inviting and open, so it seems like it’s going to be a great venture for us,” he said.

“We’ve got pretty much a full crew (and) we’re really just a customer service-based company dedicated to doing the right thing for customers and taking care of people.”

Founded in 1952, Les Schwab Tire Centers is one of the nation’s largest independent tire dealers with more than 500 locations across 10 states. South Dakota represents an additional state and is part of a multi-store expansion for Les Schwab in the upper Midwest.

For tires, “we have quite the variety of our in-house brands, and we typically can get ahold of any other options customers are wanting,” Longacre said.

In addition to tires, the location offers brakes, shocks, alignment and oil changes. Appointments are available to book online but not necessary, Longacre said.

“We have vending machines, coffee and popcorn and same-day service, so we can do tires while you wait in the showroom,” he said. “Customers are starting to realize we’re open.”

A grand opening will be held May 31-June 1 and include some special offers, he said, adding the company also has a history of giving and community involvement.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
