Lululemon fans soon will be able to do some shopping in downtown Sioux Falls.

605 Running Co. has been named an authorized dealer for the athleisure apparel business, following what co-owner Greg Koch called an extensive application and interview process.

The downtown store at 124 S. Phillips Ave. connected with the managers of the Lululemon store at The Empire Mall at a group run last year.

“We made a great connection, maintained regular dialog and discovered that we really had a shared vision and a desire to collaborate,” Koch said. “Our goal as a strategic sales partner is to complement the Lululemon store, and we have a lot of exciting things planned as we head toward summer.”

The primary focus will be running and yoga apparel, he said.

“We pride ourselves in being a premier running outfitter,” he said. “Having great footwear and apparel makes an intimidating sport fun and certainly breaks down perceived barriers associated with running.”

605 Running Co. will begin carrying Lululemon apparel for men and women Monday.

“We are confident that our audience is going to love the Lululemon brand at 605 Running Co.,” Koch said. “The brand has been requested for years, and we are excited to create this opportunity in downtown Sioux Falls. Adding Lululemon will also increase our audience and bring new customers into our store that might not have ever experienced everything else we have to offer.”

One of the store’s running coaches, Jeri Light, also is a certified yoga instructor. The hope is to bring back regular yoga classes in June after discontinuing them during the pandemic, Koch said. The store also partnered with downtown neighbors Coast 2 Coast Fitness and has been participating in weekly hot yoga sessions at that location.

“605 Running Co. will celebrate our eight-year anniversary in business this July. We have demonstrated a history of success in the specialty sporting goods world, and Lululemon presents the next opportunity for us to continue to grow and showcase quality goods for active lifestyle,” he added.
