A new energy-efficient home along Cherry Lake in west Sioux Falls topped the list of the most expensive residential sales for the week of Sept. 5 at $1.7 million.

Two other homes topped the million-dollar mark.

The No. 1 home was built by NRG Homes with SIP exterior walls. In addition to being environmentally friendly, some of the benefits of structural insulated panels are increased energy efficiency and less dust and allergens in the home. The 4,300-square-foot house has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. It takes advantage of lake views with floor-to-ceiling triple-pane windows on the main floor and garage-style doors on the lower level that open to the lake.

The No. 2 home is a condo unit in the Boyce-Greeley Building in downtown Sioux Falls that sold for almost $1.4 million. The fourth-floor space has 2,500 square feet with two bedrooms and three bathrooms. The building at 11th and Phillips was built in 1910 and offers retail, office and living spaces.

The No. 3 home sold for almost $1.3 million. The 8,300-square-foot home was built in 1992 on a double lot along Prairie Green Golf Course and includes an adjacent parcel that’s also along the golf course. The two-story brick home has seven bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and walk-in closet. There are four additional bathrooms in the home and a six-stall garage. Features include a wraparound porch, 40-foot sport pool, hot tub, basketball court and gazebo.
