From staff reports
A Watertown brew pub/restaurant owner is competing today in Las Vegas for an international pizza-making title.
Sean Dempsey, owner and executive chef at Dempsey’s Brewery Pub & Restaurant, is entered in the International Pizza Challenge that’s part of the annual International Pizza Expo.
Dempsey’s was founded in 1999 by Sean’s father, Bill, and in addition to being a restaurant is the second-oldest brewery in the state.
Sean Dempsey attended the ISOP school in San Francisco and is believed to be the state’s only certified “pizzaiola,” or pizza maker. The restaurant makes about 350 pizzas weekly using a double-decker New York brick oven.
