Name: Laycee Kluin

Age: 24

Hometown: Sioux Falls

What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I was born, raised and educated here. I graduated from the University of Sioux Falls, and I’ve always known I wanted to establish my career here as well.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

My family and all of the opportunities Sioux Falls presents. The community here is top-notch, and you really can’t run out of things to keep yourself entertained! Most of all, it’s an exciting feeling to grow my career as a young professional all while the city itself continues to grow.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

The culture is unbelievable. I am so impressed with the alignment between personal and company values. It’s encouraging to be able to work alongside a team that pushes me to new areas of growth and offers support along the way. It’s a lot of fun!

How did you get connected to your industry?

My older sister inspired me to start taking media classes in college, and that’s how I found myself gaining interest in a marketing career. USF helped set me up for success, and from there I’ve continued to seek learning opportunities from professionals in the industry. Ultimately, I’ve worked hard at creating relationships with those individuals to lead me where I am today! I continue to be fascinated by the ever-changing world of marketing and the opportunity to be a lifelong learner.

Describe MarketBeat in three words.

Driven. Resilient. Fun.

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

All of the cars I’ve owned have been repairables I worked on fixing up in the garage with my dad! You won’t find me waiting in line for an oil change, I’ll be in the garage with my hands dirty.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

I enjoy supporting local businesses when I can, including participating in local events!

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

Trader Joe’s or Dunkin Donuts!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

At MarketBeat continuing to learn and develop both professionally and personally. I’d love to be able to take on more responsibilities for the company and additionally be in a position to make an impact in the community.
