The merger of Sanford Health and the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society will happen sooner than originally announced.

Sanford Health and Good Samaritan have approval to move forward with coming together. If regulators approve, it will create a 50,000-person organization based in Sioux Falls.
